Last Saturday we attended 2 parties, Sunday we were tourists in New Jersey and went to Jonathan and Irena and Monday and Tuesday I was at work in New Jersey so I didn't run since last Wednesday. Yesterday I arrived home at 1.30 am so I had a pretty short night.
When I was at the supermarket I was sure I wasn't going for a run -- I was too tired. Subconsciously I was worried about the dark and afraid I would hurt myself because I was too tired. Analyzing that thought explicitly told me that while I was tired, I surely wouldn't fall asleep during the run. In the car, and when I arrived home, I sort of tricked myself by step by step preparing to go for a run. And it worked!
Now I'm back home, proud and nicely tired and ready for dinner. I ran a pretty bad time, 38.24 minutes for the standard Duke trail, but I am very happy I managed to get myself to go out and train.
