Dutch Ambassador Renée Jones-Bos to Present on International Human Rights

Renée Jones-Bos, Ambassador to the United States from The Netherlands, will visit UNC School of Law on Tues., March 29 to discuss The Hague, the International Criminal Court (ICC) and international human rights. Ambassador Jones-Bos has served as the 44th representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United States of America since 2008.

Prior to her appointment to Washington, Ambassador Jones-Bos held numerous diplomacy positions with the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs; she served as director-general for regional policy and consular affairs, ambassador-at-large for human rights, and head of the Security Council Task Force. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Russian studies from the University of Sussex, U.K. and a degree in Russian and English studies, politics and economics from the University of Antwerp, Belgium.

The Royal Netherlands Embassy works to further shared history between the Netherlands and the United States; shared values in international law and human rights; shared values in peace, security and stability; and innovation in creative industries, energy and climate, and water/climate adaptation. The program will be open to ICLO members and TransAtlantic Masters Program students, in addition to any other interested law students. The event will take place in the boardroom from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m.
