November 2009

It had been more than two months since my previous long run, so I was curious how it would go. It went very well! The temperature surely helped; 54 degrees. About 25 minutes before the end another runner came onto the trail a few minutes in front of me. I felt strong so I started chasing him and after 10 minutes I overtook him. Never let go of the speed and made it in a pretty good time: 2 hours, 17 minutes and change.

10.9 minutes/mile. A personal record for this course, beating my previous PR from October 2008 by 4 minutes.

Wonderful short run. Left at 1.45 pm, hungry. Came back half hour later, happy.

The first time I went for a run in Somerset on Saturday morning. I did Pierce Street, to fields, back over Elizabeth. Maybe 30 minutes? Haven't run in 4 days, stiff legs. Little bit of a headache -- it's been a long week. But run felt good.
